Qualche giorno fa, The Observer ha pubblicato la lista dei 50 blog più importanti e influenti del mondo; stranamente non è citato questo mio blog, ma forse solo perché ho cominciato da troppo poco tempo… :-)

Per “orgoglio nazionale” non posso non citare la presenza al nono posto del blog di Beppe Grillo, la cui fama, dopo l’innegabile successo di iniziative come il V-Day, ha varcato i confini nazionali!

Il podio è composto da:

1. The Huffington Post

Vero e proprio “giornale” sul web, creato dalla milionaria Arianna Huffington, che ospita sul suo blog anche articoli di giornalisti professionisti e celebrità. Politica, attualità, cronaca, spettacolo, economia: tutti gli argomenti sono trattati su questo blog, in una maniera decisamente progressista e liberale. Questo sito è la dimostrazione che, anche su Internet, il successo è spesso figlio di una saggia campagna di marketing e di buone disponibilità economiche…

2. Boing Boing

Un “elenco di cose meravigliose”, come recita il sottotitolo; al momento si può trovare ad esempio un articolo su un modello di pantaloni ricavati dalle tende dell’esercito inglese della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Ma, più che altro, ci sono notizie di tutti i generi, per lo più “strane”, alternative, vale a dire introvabili sui canali “tradizionali”; insieme a prese di posizione che vanno contro i “poteri forti”. Per questo, Boing Boing rappresenta uno dei siti simbolo di Internet come un mezzo di espressione libero dai condizionamenti dei governi e delle grandi corporation.

3. Techcrunch

Secondo “The Observer”, quando si parla di tecnologia e di web, questo è il blog per eccellenza; anche questo non si fa mancare una vena di aggressività e di polemica verso i media tradizionali e i poteri costituiti, secondo il “vero” spirito libero di Internet.

Come tutte le classifiche, anche questa è opinabile, e ha suscitato molte reazioni negative, per la presenza di alcuni siti e l’assenza di altri; probabilmente sarebbe stato più onesto (e avrebbe sollevato meno polemiche) chiamarlo “i 50 blog preferiti da noi all’Observer”!

Some days ago, The Observer published the list of the 50 most important blogs in the world; what’s strange, this blog is not mentioned, maybe because I started blogging just a few weeks ago… :-)

For “national pride”, I have to mention the presence, at the ninth place, of Beppe Grillo’s blog: it seems that his notoriety has crossed the Italian border, probably after the undeniable success of the “v-day” and other initiatives like this one.

The first three blogs are:

1. The Huffington Post

It’s a real web-based journal, created by the millionaire Arianna Huffington, who hosts on her blog also articles from professional journalists and celebrities. Politics, reports, news, entertainment, business: all subjects are discussed on this blog, in a definitely progressive and liberal way. It’s the demonstration that, on the Internet too, success is the consequence of a good marketing campaign and great financial means…

2. Boing Boing

“A Directory of Wonderful Things”, as you can read in the subtitle; as an example, in this moment you can find a post about some trousers obtained from recycled WWII British army tents. More than this, there are news of all kinds, mainly “weird”, alternative, i.e. that you can’t find on traditional media; together with ultra-liberal political comments from the authors. For these reasons, Boing Boing is a model for everybody that considers Internet as a media free from all conditionings from governments and corporations.

3. Techcrunch

According to “The Observer, when it’s about technology and web, this is the blog par excellence. But in the real Internet “free spirit”, you can always find aggressive opinions and arguments against traditional media and political power.

Like all charts, this one is questionable, and in fact it caused many negative reactions, because of the presence of some sites, and the absence of others; maybe it would have been more honest (and it would have provoked less arguments) to call the article “The Observer’s favourite 50 blogs”!
